8th Annual Creating Safe Spaces Waffle Breakfast

CSSB 2014 Banner Style Save the Date

Each year, the Society for Safe and Caring Schools & Communities hosts a breakfast fundraiser during National Bullying Awareness Week in November.

With over 300 attendees – including members of the business community, educators, school administrators, youth, community leaders and local dignitaries and politicians – the Creating Safe Spaces Waffle Breakfast is an excellent opportunity to network and build connections. Last year, the event was attended by Premier Dave Hancock, as well as by Sandra Jansen, Associate Minister of Family and Community Safety, and emcee’d by CTV News.

The 2014 breakfast theme is “Collaborate and Create” to build community. The event will celebrate the amazing work that can be accomplished when stakeholders, educators, youth and community members come together with a common goal.

The breakfast will also highlight the value of self-expression through artwork on an individual and community level. The event will be an opportunity to showcase the winners of our annual Art of Caring contest, as well as a large piece of collaborative artwork contributed to by students, youth, educators, dignitaries, members of the media, businesses and community members.

Safe and Caring will also honour the recipients of our annual HEROES award, which recognizes individuals and organizations committed to creating safe, caring, healthy and inclusive schools and communities.
